Call her Ica. A daughter, a sister, a friend, a lover, a student, a normal human being. She's an outgoing gal who's living life on its edge, ready for any circumstances. She's frank, not tactless. She's very boyish, but a girl at heart. Ica's a Thomasian nursing freshman. Loud, outrageous, ecstatic voodoo doll :D
WALA NGA. Thank you Lord.
I might be paranoid. LOL XD
Goodbye kiddo. We will miss you forever. :P
Paalam :)
So, I went to Manila last Sunday afternoon for my classes. I was kinda excited for my second week, but then nervous too because I had a report in Chemistry about Bunsen burners which I'm not ready for just for the reason that I haven't seen one in my whole life. I sought help from one of my dorm mates who happened to be my group mate. We were at the study area, then all of a sudden this Medicine student shouted for joy when she heard the news that classes for the following colleges-College of Medicine, College of Nursing, and College of Rehabilitation Science-are suspended for 8 days because apparently a Thomasian from one of these colleges acquired the Swine Flu. Too bad for him/her (the gender wasn't stated); he'll miss classes. Sure hope he'll get better soon. So, another 8 days of vacation for us! :))
So, I'm officially a Thomasian nursing student, and hurrah! The first week is almost over. New environment, new professors, new classmates, new friends, every thing's new, and I have to face this on my own because I study here in Manila and I live in a dormitory. My preschool bestfriend is with me, and so are my roommates who just live near Pampanga :)) I'm not homesick, not like my other dormmates, because I get along with my roommates and other dormmates. I even have classmates in the other rooms! The good thing with my dorm is that it has a canteen below which serves good food due to the fact that the cook's Kapampangan. Cool!
We have a lot of requirements in all my subjects, especially Chemistry because we have our lab classes and lecture classes. We even had a pre-test in Math! I got 13 out of 20 :| My profs are kinda strict, except our TFN prof; she has a good sense of humor :)) I really hope I will not stop studying. TEMPTATIONS KEEP OUT.
Some of my classmates came from other places or have other nationalities-Visayas, Mindanao, India, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Spain :) Cool.
A little adjustment is all I need and I can live here with no problem. Wish me luck. :)
So, there's this girl who's actually a pop star but only her family and best friends know. Quit the narration! It's Miley Stewart a.k.a. Hannah Montana and she has her own TV series, and now her own movie. Everyone (well, almost) is excited to see this movie which will be shown here in the Philippines on July 8. The thing is, I got the thrills and spills ahead of every Filipino.
I know piracy is such a bad thing, and you might get imprisoned for it, but I still used it to download and watch the most-awaited Hannah Montana the Movie (though it's just a cinema copy). It took me a week before I finally downloaded the whole thing.
So, I watched the movie, and it hit me in an instant. It was about family, friendship, relationships, priorities, maturity, and honesty, to name a few. It's amazing-the plot, the characters, everything! Every girl (or probably some boys) could relate to Miley Stewart and how she courageously struggled to become the best of both worlds.
The original cast still portrayed their roles, and new people were added. One of them was Lucas Till. He became part of the lead cast as Travis, Miley's childhood friend from Crowley Meadows, Tennessee. Here's a picture of him with Miley and Taylor:
Here's another one, this time it's only him:
After making this movie, I give Miley and the rest of the cast and crew two thumbs up for the success of this film :)
Oh, and did I mention that Lucas Till is so hot? *_
Let's see. There's still 6 days till the start of classes, and 4 days till I transfer to my dorm. THAT'S LESS THAN A WEEK. :)
I've packed my things, and washed my uniforms and bedsheets. So, the last thing to do is wait.
So, how was the preparation for college and Manila life? Very tiring.
1. Finding the perfect bag. Before, I use totes so that all my school stuff (and kikay stuff) could fit in with no problem. Now, I realized I should use backpacks (with a lil' style) so that my thick books and other stuff could fit in. But the question was: What brand? A lot (of brands) came to my mind till I got tired of thinking and went to looking. I went to a lot of Robinsons Department stores and found a single match that caught my eye at an instant. It's red and black all over with a bit of white polka dots and colorful monsters with a touch of glitter. Ain't it nice? I bought it with no hesitations.
2. Looking for a hoodie with style. I've got a lot of choices in mind: retro, electro, girly, artistic, colorful, etc. But when I saw the jacket at Redgirl, I knew it was the one. It's black and green, and has cream vectors. Awesome.
3. Looking for bedsheets. So, we went to this store that's got really low prices. We looked for some bedsheets and we had a hard time finding bedsheets with cool designs and with the right size 'cause they were all for the queen sizes. It took us 30 minutes before the saleslady realized there was more in the stockroom. DUH. Finally, we got some bedsheets.
4. Buying school shoes. This was the tiring part. After I got my uniform at Aling Ising's uniform center in Dapitan, we went to the Mall of Asia to buy some shoes. We first entered the dept. store 'cause there are a lot of shoes there to choose from but I didn't get a pair. It was either my size wasn't available or they're too hard, or the quality isn't that good, or they don't fit my feet perfectly. It took us two hours to finally find the almost perfect shoes from Rusty Lopez. It was kinda costly, but the money was worth it. It's comfy and it's the school shoe-type. Haha.
5. Buying toiletries. Of course, I'm not at home where all the things are at the palm of your hands. I'm gonna stay in a dormitory. So, my things are practically ZERO; the cabinet is empty. I went to the supermarket to purchase the basic things I needed (that includes my medicine). It was like buying home essentials for the first time! Haha. But I had fun.
So that's it. As Spongebob often says, "I'm ready!"
