Call her Ica. A daughter, a sister, a friend, a lover, a student, a normal human being. She's an outgoing gal who's living life on its edge, ready for any circumstances. She's frank, not tactless. She's very boyish, but a girl at heart. Ica's a Thomasian nursing freshman. Loud, outrageous, ecstatic voodoo doll :D
Yesterday, I was shocked to read the message forwarded by my friend saying that 2 patients infected with the swine flu virus were admitted to JBL hospital in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
Think about it. The JBL hospital is a government-owned hospital that's not the kind of hospital you are dreaming to be confined in. It's not that clean and the facilities are not that good. Seriously, do you think someone who has this swine flu virus would be confined to that kind of hospital? Duh.
I talked to my other friend awhile ago whose mom has business with the CSFP mayor. I asked him if the rumor is a fact.
" Mom just finished her meeting with the mayor. The rumor isn't true, but there are 8 swine flu-infected Taiwanese in Pampanga. "
So, there you have it. The swine flu virus in Pampanga is a rumor, but let's be extra cautious. Remember to wash your hands everytime.
Always remember this miracle: Do you know why it rains in the summer? Doctors say that the swine flu virus is airborne, and the rain cleans the air. God is so good :)
I was asked by my friends what I'll do 3 years from now. I thought, hey. That's when I'll turn 18. Digging into my vivid thoughts I found an answer. I wanna travel. I want to go to Europe. Think about it. Europe is the hottest destination! (rock) Spain.. France.. Italy.. Rome.. Germany.. Great Britain.. Austria.. Prague.. Monaco.. Everything you need is there! Just ride a train and you can go to any point in Europe. Good thing I have relatives there; I could still feel home.
THAT'S EUROPE!
I could already see it-different kinds of cheese, gelato, wine, race car driving, tourist spots like the Eiffel Tower, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and Big Ben, pizza, pasta, and of course the Pope! lol. Oh my God, I can't wait.
BIG BEN :)
LEANING TOWER OF PISA :)
EIFFEL TOWER :)
But of course, no matter how you see it, it'll still be 3 years, 3 long years, and I'm gonna have to wait, study hard, save money, and the like. But I still believe that my love for cheese and gelato will take me a long way. :P
When I got home from Subic 2 days ago, I found out that I was hyperacidic.
It was a normal day. My family and I planned to have lunch in Subic but apparently, it was a late lunch. We got off at 1, and reached Subic at 2. I said, "Let's have lunch in a Japanese resto, since we kinda skipped lunch." But Dad didn't agree; he decided to take us to Meat Plus Cafe. So, as I was browsing the menu, I found some penne pasta with white sauce which, unfortunately, was sold out. So much for hopes and pasta. Okay, I settled for burger. Meat Plus burger, that is. It was a double-patty burger with TLC. We were enjoying the food and the company and all, until...
"Mom, I think I got a heart burn."
"What?!! I think it's because of the burger. You're not used to eating that much. Just rest and it'll be gone in a while."
So, after eating, we took a roadtrip to White Rock to ask the prices and to see the place.
"Mom, it's still not going anywhere. :("
"Drink hot coffee of tea when we get home."
When we arrived home, I immediately asked my yaya to get me a cup of coffee (her recipe is the best). When I drank it, I was like.. Okay. This'll get off after I take a shower.
But it didn't. Bullshit. It hurts so much, and I had a hard time breathing. I just had to text my aunt who happens to be a pediatrician.
The revelation had happened. I was diagnosed with hyperacidity. Ouch. At first, I was like.. Hey, it's just hyperacidity. But then I thought, I could never eat the food I grew with-fatty, sweet, spicy foods, and soda. Big no-no. Dang! Maybe it's time I live with healthy food, be more green and stuff like that. Although, it's not a crime to eat those once in a while. After all, eating prohibited food is a naughty yet satisfying deal. :P
This is my renovated blog, so to speak. I got it from Blogskins, as suggested by Chin. I found a lot of CSS to suit my personality, but this one tops because I'm a really colorful person, having different moods and all. I edited the HTML, but since I don't have that much knowledge in these stuff, I sought help from Chin, and other friends. We went through a lot of trials and errors, and voila! I have the best CSS I could have ever imagined. The font color's pink basically because I'm a girl and pink, well.. it describes a teenage girl. (haha!)
Yes, you read it right. Ever since the rumors came that ABS-CBN will air Boys over Flowers, Korea's own remake of the famous Japanese manga, Hanayori Dango, people, especially teen girls (maybe even women of all ages. LMAO), went gaga over this 'Koreanovela'. People browsed Youtube and watched the episodes so that they could be ahead of everybody else, downloaded pictures of the Korean F4, and of course, they simply went gaga. And when the time has come for ABS-CBN to finally air it on TV, people stuck their eyeballs to the TV monitor like crazy.
"I love Goo Joon Pyo!" "I love Yoon Ji Hoo!" "Aaaaaaaaah!" SEE THE MANIA?
But I don't why this 'Koreanovela' isn't clinging to me like what Meteor Garden (Taiwan's version of Hanayori Dango) did. I remember 5 years ago, when MG was still aired, I bought an episode guide, F4's album CD, and a Starstudio magazine with an oversized photo of the original F4. I watched it over and over and over and over again on TV (coz computers and laptops are so rare that time); I just couldn't help it.
Even though I'm a Kapamilya, I used to watch 'Kapuso Koreanovelas'. One of my favorites was Stairway to Heaven. It's a story of selfless love, how Cholo (the lead guy) took care of his girlfriend, Jodie (the lead girl), who was about to die from cancer. She even got blind! But nevertheless, cholo still took care of her. Here's the whole plot from Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stairway_to_Heaven_(TV_series)
Koreanovelas are part of a Filipino life, whether he is a Kapamilya or a Kapuso. Expect it that every season there's this new Koreanovela to sink in our hearts; it's up to you if it will.
To all the mums out there: Belated happy mothers' day! ♥ To all the kids out there: What did you do yestie for mum? Did you thank, kiss, and hug her? (I sound like mum. Haha!) To both: Hope you had a great time yestie! :)
If you ask what I gave my mum, well.. I gave her the latest album of her favorite singer- Jed Madela. Here's the album cover: http://www.1019forlife.com/Portals/1/Skins/DWRR/images/jedCDcover.jpg It had songs written in the 80's and 90's, and they were my mum's faves so it was the perfect gift for her. My previous choice was to give her a bouquet full of white roses, carnations, tulips, and stargazers. But then again, I changed my mind.
So, here's the poll I'm talking about. I was wondering what brand is the best when it comes to laptops. I wanna buy one for college. I want something that's easy to use and doesn't wear off easily. I'm choosing among Dell, Apple, Lenovo, Toshiba, and Sony Vaio. So, whatcha think?
So, move over. Newbie here writing this post for you guys.
It's 4.22 pm, and I've discovered something new. I felt it was time to make one. Inspired by unfortunate doll, I made my very own blog hosted by Blogger. It's not much, but I'm really satisfied with it.
I have four web accounts, three of which are always updated: Facebook account: Sorry guys. This account is private for my family and friends. Plurk account: plurk.com/icathomasian Twitter account: twitter.com/icapineda Follow me. LOL.
So, I'm a really big fan of Taylor Swift. I've followed her Twitter account, and I also have her songs in my iPod. I want to share this vid of hers; hope you like it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51Lv9vs6xwo
I also watch Jeff Dunham's vids. I loooooove Achmed, with a little lot of phlegm in his corpse throat. OMG, he really knows my funny bone's location. XD
