Call her Ica. A daughter, a sister, a friend, a lover, a student, a normal human being. She's an outgoing gal who's living life on its edge, ready for any circumstances. She's frank, not tactless. She's very boyish, but a girl at heart. Ica's a Thomasian nursing freshman. Loud, outrageous, ecstatic voodoo doll :D
Yes, you read it right. Ever since the rumors came that ABS-CBN will air Boys over Flowers, Korea's own remake of the famous Japanese manga, Hanayori Dango, people, especially teen girls (maybe even women of all ages. LMAO), went gaga over this 'Koreanovela'. People browsed Youtube and watched the episodes so that they could be ahead of everybody else, downloaded pictures of the Korean F4, and of course, they simply went gaga. And when the time has come for ABS-CBN to finally air it on TV, people stuck their eyeballs to the TV monitor like crazy.
"I love Goo Joon Pyo!" "I love Yoon Ji Hoo!" "Aaaaaaaaah!" SEE THE MANIA?
But I don't why this 'Koreanovela' isn't clinging to me like what Meteor Garden (Taiwan's version of Hanayori Dango) did. I remember 5 years ago, when MG was still aired, I bought an episode guide, F4's album CD, and a Starstudio magazine with an oversized photo of the original F4. I watched it over and over and over and over again on TV (coz computers and laptops are so rare that time); I just couldn't help it.
Even though I'm a Kapamilya, I used to watch 'Kapuso Koreanovelas'. One of my favorites was Stairway to Heaven. It's a story of selfless love, how Cholo (the lead guy) took care of his girlfriend, Jodie (the lead girl), who was about to die from cancer. She even got blind! But nevertheless, cholo still took care of her. Here's the whole plot from Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stairway_to_Heaven_(TV_series)
Koreanovelas are part of a Filipino life, whether he is a Kapamilya or a Kapuso. Expect it that every season there's this new Koreanovela to sink in our hearts; it's up to you if it will.
